BISMARCK MUNICIPAL PARKING AUTHORITY

MEETING MINUTES

JANUARY 12, 2012

The Bismarck Municipal Parking Authority met in regular session on the above date at 9:00 A. M. in the second floor conference room in the City-County Building, 221 N 5th St., Bismarck, North Dakota. Chairman Jim Christianson presided.

Members present: Jim Christianson, Claire Anne Holmberg, Chuck Hale Brian Peterson and Dina Baird

Members absent: None

Staff Members: Rocky Gordon, Sue Schaff and Dennis Torgerson

Others present: Jason Tomanek, Dawn Kopp, Kate Herzog Parrel Grossman, Heather Balkowitsch and Loretta Johnson

MINUTES

Chairman Jim Christianson called for consideration of the minutes of the December 8, 2011 meeting.

MOTION

A motion was made by Claire Anne Holmberg, seconded by Brian Peterson and unanimously approved by all members present that the minutes of the December 8, 2011 meeting be approved.

REVIEW OF FINANCIAL STATEMENTS

MOTION

A motion was made by Brian Peterson, seconded by Claire Anne Holmberg and unanimously approved by all members present to approve the December financial statement.

APPEARANCE BY DOWNTOWNERS

MOTION

A motion was made by Chuck Hale, seconded by Dina Baird and unanimously approved by all members present to approve the request from the Dowtowners for a trade out of parking in exchange for advertising.

STRATEGIC PLANNING SESSION

A meeting has been scheduled for Thursday, February 23, 2012 from 3:00 – 5:00 PM.

OTHER BUSINESS

Jim Christianson reported that a decision on the consultant selection has not been made. There has been a meeting scheduled for February 16, 2012 from 1:00 – 3:00 PM to receive presentations on an expanded project.

Policy Statement on Photography in the Ramps

MOTION

A motion was made by Dina Baird, seconded by Brian Peterson and unanimously approved by all members present to implement a written policy statement to consider requests to do photography on the Parking Authority properties.

ADJOURNMENT

There being no further business, Chairman Jim Christianson declared the Bismarck Municipal Parking Authority adjourned at 10:23 A.M. to meet again February 9, 2012.
